Rotary Screw Air Compressors

A rotary screw air compressor operates on the principle of positive displacement using twin spiral screws. In the more common oil-flooded system, an oil-based lubricant fills the space between the helical rotors, transferring mechanical energy and creating an airtight hydraulic seal between the rotors. Atmospheric air enters the system, and the interlaced screws push it through the compressor.
