Hydraulic Piston Pumps
Hydraulic piston pumps are positive‐displacement devices that convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy by using one or more pistons reciprocating within a cylinder block to draw fluid in during the suction stroke and discharge it under high pressure during the compression stroke.
They come in two main configurations: axial piston pumps, where pistons are arranged parallel to the drive shaft and actuated by a swashplate for variable or fixed displacement, and radial piston pumps, where pistons radiate around a camshaft to produce smooth, high‐pressure flow.
