Motor Bases

Motor bases are essential in drive systems, allowing dynamic belt tension adjustments to accommodate load changes or plastic expansion. In self-tensioning motor bases, the motor mounts on a rotatable plate designed to tilt back at an angle of about 15° to 30°. This backward tilt, held by the motor’s weight, maintains constant belt tension, which is crucial for reducing wear on pulleys and belts, ensuring efficient power transmission, and preventing potential belt breakage.
