Variable pitch sheaves offer a straightforward solution for adjusting fan speed to meet specific airflow requirements, ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory standards. These sheaves function by allowing the threaded angular-faced discs that form the V-shaped groove, where the belt rides, to move. When the discs are moved closer together, the belt rides higher, increasing the pitch diameter and thus the driven speed. Conversely, when the discs are moved apart, the belt rides lower, decreasing the pitch diameter and reducing the driven speed.
